Balancing Crown Charka

The crown charka is responsible for your connection to something beyond this human existence. It is where faith and trust reside. It is where we let go to the flow of life, “knowing” that we are exactly where we need to be. That everything is connected to a bigger picture we may not always see or understand but we know it exists. This is a powerful and very expansive charka. This charka can pull you out of this human experience and connect you to the universal energy. This is where we connect to our truth, God, divine energy and pure love. If you find yourself struggling with trusting the journey you are in, or you feel lost in this human experience this charka is a great one to work with. There are many ways to work with this charka, but the most obvious one is meditation. When working with this charka it is best to meditate in nature where you can connect to everything around you and become one with the earth’s energy. Guided meditation, a yoga nidra or a crystal meditation are a few great options. To stimulate this charka start by getting in to table top position and gently placing the top of your head on the mat and begin massaging the top of your head (make sure to be mindful to keep your neck safe) by rocking side to side and front and back you can say this mantra in your mind as you do this exercise. When you feel done with your massage you can come into a comfortable meditation position on your back in savasana and begin your guided meditation. Give yourself lots of time to transition when you come out of meditation.

Balancing Third eye charka

The third eye charka is responsible for guiding you in achieving your true vision. It’s focus is to bring you back to trusting your higher self, your intuition, and your inner guide. This is a deep connection to your true vision of the life you desire. This “knowing” or intuition is so important for helping guide you along your path to your true potential. If you feel like you are struggling seeing your truth, or trusting that inner guide then this charka could use some extra love and attention. Come into a wide‐legged child’s pose. Toes connected, knees wide, sit bones to the heels. Bringing your chest to the mat, allow the space between your eyebrows (third eye) to rest on stacked fists or a block. Putting gentle pressure on that area you can say this mantra in your mind, focusing on bringing the energy from the words into that space between your eyes. Relax here for as long as you need.

Cleansing, charging and dedicating your crystals

When purchasing crystals it essential to understand the importance of cleansing, dedicating and charging them before and in between uses. Picking your crystal can be done intuitively honouring which ones you are naturally drawn to. You can also search for ones that may helps with the specific situation or condition you are experiencing. Once you come home with your crystals it’s important to cleansing them of any energies that may have attached itself to it from others who have come into contact with it.

My favourite method of cleansing stones is done with burning sage and holding the crystal in the smoke. Other methods included placing it under running water or soaking in salt water just be mindful that water does damage some crystals so do your research. You can also cleanse the stones using other stones such as selenite. This can be done by placing them in the same bowl or waving a selenite wand over the crystals as a way to clear the energies.

Charging your crystals can be done by burying them in the earth and allowing the frequency of the earth to tune them. You can also charge them in the full moon or sunlight just be mindful the the sun can damage some precious stones.

Dedicating your stones can be done by using them in meditation, saying a mantra or prayer over them or placing reiki energy in them. The act of taking the time to do this set the intention forth that these healing tools will be used in a way the is for the highest good for yourself and others you may choose to use them on.

Hope that gives some simple and basic ideas for how to cleanse, charge and dedicate your crystals. Remember to cleanse in between uses especially when using it during meditation or a healing session. This allows the stones to release any heavy energy and return to its high vibrational state clear of any interference.

Ways to incorporate the healing energy of crystals into your day

There are MANY ways to use crystals in your everyday life. Each crystal is unique and carries with it it’s own vibrational frequency and energy just as we as are all different and unique. 1) One of the most common ways is to wear your crystals as jewlery or carrying them in your pocket or purse. This is a great way to use the protective and grounding aspects of certain crystals as you move throughout your day. Wearing crystals is a great reminder of your personal intention that you set forth.

2) Using them in meditation in the way of mala beads or simply choosing a crystal that carries the energy that you are needing and holding it in your hand during meditation. You can also place crystals around your yoga mat to set an intention and amplify your personal practice.

3) I absolutely love setting up crystals around my house to help in creating a peaceful and supportive environment. Picking out some beautiful crystal candle holders can really help to set the mood and create that connection.

4) Using crystals in your bath or even in your drinking water can help to yoke the cleansing energy of water with the healing energy of crystals. *Make sure to check that the crystals you are using is safe to be placed in water*

5) Placing crystals under your pillow can help to enhance spiritual dreams and open up a path way for a more deeper connection to your subconscious and even offer support if you are experience nightmares.

6) Using crystals in reiki and healing session to aid in balancing charkas can be a powerful healing tool.

7) A selenite wand is an example of a crystal that can aid in cleansing your aura and energetic space.

8) Setting up an intentional crystal grid with gemstones you picked yourself is such a beautiful way to create a visual for manifesting the things you want to bring into your life. Setting up a crystal grids is helpful during transitional times in life. Creating grids for healing, support, creativity, abundance, and so much more.

Releasing past traumas

Releasing old traumas can be as painful as cutting into an old scar. It can feel as raw as it did the day it happened. We hold memories in our minds, and these memories get stored in our bodies. Many of the aches and pains we experience can be blockages waiting to be released. These pains can prevent us from moving into a place of healing. Releasing those traumas makes room for personal growth to occur.

After taking my Reiki training I began to see my body as a vessel with pockets of trapped energy. While on my yoga mat the other day I was contemplating why my hips and legs felt so tight all the time. I never seemed to feel much relief despite my best efforts. The first thing that came to mind was the trauma I had experienced with the birth of my first child. I realized I couldn’t create space in my body where emotional pain was stored.

What started off as such a beautiful exciting experience evolved into a living nightmare. After labouring for thirty six hours with no sleep, an ambulance ride from one hospital to another, and being poked and prodded by countless medical professionals, I felt trapped in this endless horrible dream. I was overwhelmed and exhausted. I felt like I was having an out-of-body experience. I could hear the voices of encouragement from my mother and husband, but I was so overcome with pain that I felt numb. After my son was finally born I could hear the doctor yelling, “Open your eyes. Look! It’s your baby boy!” I couldn’t open my eyes despite how desperately I wanted to. The last thing I remembered was looking up at my husband who was wiping tears from his face. The love for son radiated out of him and filled the room. And then there was nothing. Just darkness. I remember only bits and piece of the next two days. My body shut down. I went into a place I can’t describe. That trauma triggered postpartum depression among many other problems. Over the years I released bits and pieces of that experience, going on to have two more amazing children that brought me some much healing. But learning to let go of the feelings of isolation, fear and failure from that event were much harder and took me years to work through. Revisiting this trauma was incredibly difficult but it was what I need to do to find a new sense of freedom.

IMG_9415

Trauma comes in all sorts of forms and degrees and everyone experiences these painful moments differently. But the more we allow ourselves to let go of these negative experiences we’ve had, the easier we can live our life with fullness. Looking back, I can see how my mother and husband surrounded me with so much love and support. They protected me and gave me the strength  when I needed the most. Every time I held my son I was reminded of all the beauty that came from such a difficult event. When you step back, you can start see the beauty that exists in the trauma. This is when you are able to slowly move through it. To grow from it. To break free of the the heaviness that exists in it. This is when energy can flow more freely and a sense of freedom can arise.
